Climate Types

Climate is the most common weather condition(s) found in an area.

The tilt of the Earth in space causes places at different latitudes to have different climates:

Sun's rays spread out at the poles. The midday sun is low on the horizon.
Sun's rays are direct at the Equator. The midday sun is high in the sky.

The climate of a region will determine what plants will grow there and what animals will inhabit it.

A biome is a place where similar species live together in an ecosystem. The main biomes on earth are:

equatorial;
savanna;
hot desert;
monsoon;
temperate;
polar and tundra.
